Community care relies on collective resource-sharing. If you would like to support this work outside of a client relationship—or pay it forward after receiving coaching—donations are welcome at any time.

Your contribution directly funds reduced-rate coaching, community workshops, and accessible grief resources.

Sibling Storytelling Series

Though up to 85% of people have a sibling, sibling grief remains uniquely underrepresented—frequently overshadowed or relegated to the margins. The Sibling Storytelling Series is collective care acknowledging sibling loss as a shared experience rather than a private wound. As an opening into collective memory, meaning-making, and connection with our siblings, we honor the complex realities of siblingship in all its forms.

What's Included

Single Sunday Workshops: Held on the 4th Sunday of the month, these sessions offer regular touchpoints to write and share in a supportive space

Virtual Multi-Week Series: A structured, multi-week journey held each November during Worldwide Bereaved Siblings Month to bring together grievers across the world

In-Person Gatherings: Local workshops and gatherings in partnership with The Grief House in Portland, OR

Frequently Asked Questions

Currently, health insurance plans don't cover grief coaching. To support financial accessibility, Story Safe offers self-selected sliding scale tiers, flexible payment plans, and itemized receipts if you wish to check with your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) provider for potential reimbursement.

You know your financial landscape best, and Story Safe isn’t asking for proof of income, verification, or explanation. During your post-Connection Call intake form, you’ll select the rate (Supported, Sustaining, or Supporting) that aligns with your lived experience. Every client receives the exact same dedicated care regardless of the tier chosen.

Grief coaching is a collaborative, forward-moving relationship focused on honoring your story, processing loss through narrative tools, and discovering meaningful ways to move alongside your grief in your life-after. Grief coaching is non-clinical and doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health disorders.

If you’re navigating deep trauma, active clinical depression, or need psychiatric support, therapy may be the best fit (or, grief coaching can complement your existing therapy). If you’re unsure, you’re encouraged to book a Connection Call and see if our alignment feels right for you right now.

There’s no prerequisite state of readiness. You don’t need to have your story organized, and you’re invited to share only what you feel safe sharing. We’ll move at your pace—whether that means exploring a single memory or simply making space where you don't have to pretend you're okay.

Yes, the Sibling Storytelling Series honors sibling loss in all its forms—including loss through estrangement, distance, disconnection, death, and beyond. Your experience as a sibling is valid and welcome here.

The Connection Call is a no-pressure conversation for us to meet, discuss what brings you to grief coaching, and explore which offering feels most supportive. There’s nothing to prepare and no obligation to become a client—just space to share your story and experience our alignment.

Individual coaching and group workshops are primarily held virtually via secure video or phone links, making them accessible wherever you are. Local in-person gatherings and organizational workshops are also available in the Portland, OR, and Vancouver, WA areas.
